North America Engine Flagship Roots in Xi'an

　　　Xi'an Cummins Engine Co., Ltd incorporated by Shaanxi Auto and Cummins Co. Ltd was set up on August 8, 2007. Cummins ISM 11L Full- Electronic Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine was put into production now.　
There were more than 100 guests presented on the open ceremony including relevant leaders of Shaanxi Province and Xi'an city, major clients of Cummins and news media．

　　Xi'an Cummins Engine Co., Ltd is located in Jingwei Industrial park, Xi'an economic and technology development zone, which covers a land of 172 Mu, annual productivity of engines 50,000engines.Xi'an Cummins Engine Co., Ltd is trying to upgrade it's production capacity to world first class level. Cooperating with Cummins Jamestown Engine plant and introducing advanced foreign technology, advanced production process, experiences and management, Xi'an Cummins has prepared itself well to produce this ISM Engine that is called North America engine's flagship.

　　ISM 11L Full- Electronic Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine is one of the flagship of engines in North America heavy-duty truck market, whose power range is 335-440 HP and the number of this kind of engine is more than 400,000 around the globe. The accumulated mileage of this kind of engine is beyond 300 billion kilometers. The reliability and endurablity of this engine is excellent whose average major repair mileage is more than 1 million kilometers.

　　The ISM Engine has the following qualities: big torque, economic oil consumption, strong dynamic, easy controlling, low noise, which can be equipped on heavy-duty trucks, special vehicles, concrete mixers, large buses and engineering vehicles whose total weight is between 26-44 tons.

　　ISM series can reach Euro II, Euro III and Euro IV emission standards. Engines with cold exhausted gas recycling (CEGR) technology, variable Geometry Turbo-compressor (VGT) and Diesel Particulate Filter can reach the standard of American EPRA2007 emission standard(equivalent to Euro V)

　　ISM engine was researched and developed to meet the requirement of North America market. The fifth generation of this engine is a tested mature product and it has been chosen by Volvo, International Kenworth, Peterbilt,Man Freightliner and some other famous heavy-duty truck manufactures to equip their heavy-duty trucks.
　　Since the mid of 1990s, ISM heavy-duty engine were re introduced to China. Shaanxi Auto, Hongyan, Foton, Hualing, Jinlong,Yutong, Ankai, Jianghuai, Zhongtong, Xugong and other famous truck, bus and engineering vehicle manufactures have chosen ISM engine to equip their products.

　　The board chairman of Shaanxi Auto addressed to the setting up of Shaanxi Cummins: “ Xi' an Cummins is a milestone since 1980s when Shaanxi Auto started it's international corporation programs. Shaanxi Auto is a major manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks in China and Cummins is the leader in international diesel engine. The win-win corporation of the two sides will lead the Chinese heavy-duty truck industry into a new era.”

　　Shaanxi Auto signed the corporation contract with Cummins in Sep, 2005. The investment ratio is 50:50. The investment of Shaanqi Auto is formed by investment of Shaanxi Automobile Group Co., Ltd and Shaanxi Heavy-Duty Automobile Co., Ltd, each 25% of the total investment.

　　Shaanxi Automobile Group is a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks above 15 tons in China. Shaanxi Auto has several years' history of corporation with Cummins and it becomes the biggest client of the new joint venture company. Cummins East Asia Market Department will be responsible for the rest clients of ISM engines in this area.
