Overview of Chinese Major heavy-duty truck Manufacturers' Development Plan in 2007
First Auto Works, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group and Dongfeng Motor Group are three giants in Chinese heavy duty truck industry. In 2007, all of three giants have achieved some success. Their development plans in 2007 are as follow:
FAW Jiefang is expanding with its newly developed trucks. It has launched its new proprietary Jiefang J6 truck model, and this model of truck is expected to replace imported trucks for high-end clients of same level.

Dongfeng Motor is prioritizing special vehicle production.Dongfeng Tianlong heavy-duty trucks entered the market in May 2006. The brand has evolved from the initial nine types to the current number of over 100 types of 36 models. The company plans to further increase the brand to over 300 types of 80 models.
Sinotruk aims to reach international levels

The China National Heavy Duty Truck Group (Sinotruk) will continue to enhance the technical contents of its HOWO brand to approach advanced international levels. Meanwhile, major relevant truck products including suspensions, axles and tyres will be upgraded. Sinotruk plans to provide high-quality and fuel efficient engines and be able to provide China's top-level engines within two to three years.
