New President of China FAW Group Corporation
On behalf of CPC Central Committee and China State Council, Wang Ercheng, vice-minister of the Ministry of Organization of CPC Central Committee, announced the top alternation of the China FAW Group Corporation in Changchun on Dec 27,2007. CPC Central Committee decided that Zhu Yanfeng would not shoulder the post of the president of the China FAW Group Corporation, and moving his work to local Jilin government. Xu Jianyi was appointed the new president of the China FAW Group Corporation, and not shouldering the post of the member of the CPC Standing Committee of Jilin Province. Also the CPC Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council decided that Zhu Yanfeng would not shoulder the post of vice-secretary of the CPC Committee of the China FAW Group Corporation, Xu Jianyi shouldering the post instead.
Xu Jianyi was born in Shandong province in Dec 1953. He graduated from Jilin University of Technology and General Manager Strategic Administrative Department of MSM Holland early or late. He was given the degree and title of MBA and professor senior engineer when he studied at MSM and worked at FAW.
After graduated from Automobile Department of Jilin University of Technology, he worked as an engineer at FAW Automobile Research Institute (FAW R & D Center). During this period he was appointed the head of the Chassis Design Office, Plan Controlling Office and vice-director of the Body Styling Department of the Institute early or late. Then he was promoted to the FAW Group’s important posts such as vice-director of Chassis Plant of FAW Group, vice-director of Plan Controlling Office of FAW Group, vice-general manger of FAW-VW, director of Plan Controlling Office of FAW Group, member of the CPC Standing Committee of FAW Group and vice-president of the China FAW Group Corporation.
During his work at FAW, as a visiting scholar, he once studied at American Engineering Technology United Co.Ltd and Ford Company.
After working for FAW, Xu Jianyi stepped to his political career and served at local Jilin government. The posts he shouldered mainly included provincial governor-assist of Jilin province, mayor of Jilin city, secretary of CPC Committee of Jilin city, director of People’s Congress of Jilin city and member of CPC Standing Committee of Jilin province.
