Light truck sales volume in China was 1,005,600 units in 2007
According to data of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, until end of 2007, light truck (1.8tons to 6 tons) sales volume in China was 1,005,600 units. Y-o-y increase was 17.64%.
It is said that fast increasing Chinese government investment on project trying to solve the three rural problems and the speed up of China train systems have lead to the flourishing of short distance transportation in the rural areas. The demand of light trucks is increasing quickly.
In 2007, non complete light truck (light truck chassis) sales volume was 99,600 units, increased 3.35% y-o-y. Of the light truck makers, Foton, Dongfeng and JAC are still leaders in this industry. By the end of 2007, the three makers had sold 546,600 units light trucks, which made up 49% of the total light trucks sold in 2007.
