VW light commercial vehicle is ready for India market
Volkswagen AG has plans to bring its light commercial vehicles to India for the growing public transport. Volkswagen’s minivans and minibuses will be imported as completely built units.
As for now the company is evaluating the domestic commercial vehicle market and then will make a decision in the near future. The company is currently studying the structure of the domestic market and will arrive at a decision in the near future.
Volkswagen is building a plant to manufacture passenger cars in Chakan, near Pune. The company had also displayed few minivans and buses at the 9th Auto Expo held in New Delhi last month.
If at all Volkswagen decides to jump in the Indian commercial vehicles, it will do so under a separate entity Volkswagen Commercial India.
