European report says Jiefang truck sales down in Russia

In recent years, sales of China JIEFANG trucks has been exciting in Russia and most Russia drivers have a good feeling towards Jiefang trucks especially trucks made by FAW. However, threaten by a seemed to be coming world economic crisis, sales of Jiefang trucks are decreasing in Russia.

According to a report by Russia “businessman newspaper” on April 11, the European Business Association of Russian automotive producers announced its report on foreign automotive brands sales in Russia, which says JIEFANG commercial trucks sales were 24 % down in the first quarter 2008. Possible reason is that Russia's emission standards have been revised to Europe - III emission standard however Chinese manufacturers failed to make adjustments in time.
