Heavy truck production and sales is expected to break 500,000

With 30 years reform and opening up, the production and sales of China heavy-duty truck is develop from 4,131 in 1978 to 489,000 in 2007. And it is expected to break 500,000 this year. Ma Chunji, the chairman of China National Heavy Duty Truck said that in China Truck Industry Development Forum in 2008.

For a long time, majority of China’s heavy-duty trucks always rely on import. In 1960, the fist heavy-duty truck with independent intellectual property rights and independent brands was born in Jinan, the predecessor of China National Heavy Duty Truck, which marking the realization of China's heavy-duty automotive industry from scratch. However, domestic heavy-duty truck only has a very small scale.

And form 2001, after the restructuring of China National Heavy Truck, they insist deepen the reform on scientific development, product structure adjustment and independent innovation.

The sales of heavy-duty trucks from 3,800 in 2006 developed to 100,000 in 2007.And it  also become the one of the five major heavy truck manufacturers in the world.
