The first China-Russia Machinery Exhibition opened in Dongning Port of Heilongjiang Province on Saturday.
Over 150 domestic machinery manufacturers and 120 foreign buyers are attending the 3-day event. Starting next year, Russia will enforce European emission standards for vehicles. So some Chinese manufacturers have developed new heavy-duty trucks with more environmentally friendly engines and better temperature-control systems.
Yang Zhigang, Deputy GM of Shanxi Automobile Import & Export Co. said "We improved our temperature-control technologies. For instance, the truck's cab has independent heating systems."
Some types of mining truck are also popular at the exhibition.
Li Demin, General Manager of China-Russia Machinery Exhibition & Trade Center said "Some Russian clients are very pleased with the products. Yesterday, one of them ordered 50 mining trucks right away."
Nearly 240 million US dollars worth of contracts were signed on the first day of the event. Some Chinese companies have also sealed processing agreements with Russian companies.
