Foton Recalls 357 Auman Trailers

www.chinatrucks.com: Beiqi-Foton Motor (Foton) began recalling its Auman trailers on January 5, the first such recall in China’s truck industry, reported 360che.com.

 

Foton submitted the vehicle recall report to China’s quality watchdog, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ) last December.

The recall involves 357 units of Foton’s BJ4253SMFJB-S7 trailers manufactured between October 20, 2009 and July 30, 2010. Models in the recall include the Auman CTX6 series 6x4/6x2 trailers and CTX 9 series 6x4 trailers.

 
According to Foton, weakly built connection bands of the exhaust brake valves could loosen under long-term high temperature and vibration conditions, thus negatively influencing the braking effect. The company will offer free replacement of connection bands, said the report.
