Foton to Set up New Plant in Uganda for Commercial Vehicles

www.chinatrucks.com : As reporter learned that Foton auto will set up vehicle manufacturing plant in Uganda, which will be producing multiple types of commercial vehicles. The vehicles produced in Uganda will cost less than importing from China.

 

Last week, the showroom of Foton opened in Uganda. As the GM of Foton Uganda, Lydia Liu said, the company is intending to set up new plant in Uganda, which will provide jobs for local residents. As calculated, a vehicle locally-produced will be 6000 dollars cheaper than one imported.

Although the company did not give any timing to construct the new plant, but, Lydia Liu said once the local government approved this project, the new plant will be able to go into operation and produce as many as 100 vehicles a day, including bus and light duty trucks.
