www.chinatrucks.com: The publicity department of Wuhai City of Inner Mongolia confirms on January 7 2014 that the world’s largest coke oven gas liquid natural gas project is completed in Wuhan and put into full operation.

The world’s largest coke oven gas liquid natural gas project
Source says the project, invested by PetroChina Kulun Huayou Natural Gas Co., Ltd with 4.7 billion yuan, commenced in April 2011. On October 11, 2012, the coke oven gas liquid natural gas project was announced to put into use and on January 6 2014, the project is completely finished and put into full operation.
News from Wuhai municipal government show that as a demonstrative project of emission reduction it applies the world’s most advanced technology to take highly effective use of coke oven gas. The project after operation will reuse 1.5 billion cubic meters of standard coke oven gas to produce 320 million cubic meters of standard LNG (around 250,000 tons) every year, saving as much as 940,000 tons of coals and reducing 1.04 million tons of carbon dioxide and 8.2 million tons of sulfur. The LNG produced will replace diesel, thus help reduce the emission of carbon dioxide 230,000 tons and 17.75 million tons of nitric oxide and 57 million tons of sulfur dioxide.
