Continental Previews New Truck Tire
www.chinatrucks.com: Continental Tire the Americas L.L.C. previewed its Conti TerraPlus HD3 on/off-road drive tire for Class 4 and 5 trucks during the National Truck Equipment Association’s Work Truck Show, held March 5-7 in Indianapolis.
The Conti TerraPlus HD3 (Heavy Drive Third Generation) will hit the market in May, the tire maker said.
The tire features a high-traction, deep-lug tread pattern and chip- and chunk-resistant tread compound for working heavy-duty pickups, landscaping trucks, utility trucks and other vocational trucks that frequently work in off-road conditions, according to Conti.
“Our new Conti TerraPlus HD3 was designed specifically for working trucks and heavy pickups which, due to the terrain, demand improved traction and a more aggressive lug pattern than the typical 19.5-inch tire provides,” said Wes Garber, director of original equipment sales for Continental’s Commercial Vehicle Tire group.
