CATL Extends Partnership with Yutong for Another 10 Years
CHINA -- On August 9, CATL New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and and Yutong Bus Co., Ltd. signed another ten-year strategic cooperation framework agreement in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. CATL began its first 10-year in-depth strategic partnership with Yutong back in 2012 and has now become Yutong's largest power battery supplier.

According to the agreement, CATL and Yutong will use their respective strengths to improve the linkage between supply and demand and create an efficient synergistic competitive advantage. The two sides will share advantageous resources in the field of commercial vehicles including buses, heavy trucks, light trucks, construction machinery and sanitation vehicles, and work together to promote the innovative development and application of new materials, new systems and new technologies, and jointly set up technical standards for commercial vehicle batteries and lead the development of commercial vehicle technology.
At the same time, the two sides will focus on overseas markets and work together to expand their presence overseas to achieve the strategic goal of “going global with electric vehicles and batteries”.
Up to now, CATL has supplied 19GWh of power batteries to Yutong for use in nearly 150,000 new energy buses, a volume that represents 93% of the total. Yutong buses equipped with CATL batteries have been exported to more than 40 countries and regions, including Qatar, France, the UK and Spain.
In addition to buses, CATL also provides clean power for Yutong sanitation trucks, mixer trucks, tractor trucks, dump trucks and other commercial vehicles.
