Windrose Starts Delivery of Electric Heavy Trucks in Northern Europe

Windrose has begun deliveries of its electric heavy-duty trucks in Northern Europe, marking a key step in its global expansion strategy.

The vehicle has received EU e5 Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) certification from Sweden’s transport authority, allowing it to be sold and operated across the European Union.

The model is also the first electric heavy truck to obtain regulatory approval in China, the United States, Europe and South America, according to the company.

Leveraging these certifications, Windrose has already entered 24 countries and expects its trucks to be eligible for sale and registration in more than 70 markets worldwide.

Global footprint and company profile

Windrose Electric, founded in China and headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium, was established in 2022 by Stanford University graduate Han Wen.

The company focuses on zero-emission long-haul heavy trucks and has expanded into key markets across North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and South America.

Product capability and development

Windrose said its electric heavy truck can deliver a range of up to 670 km under a full load of 49 tonnes.

A second-generation model is currently under development, with a targeted range exceeding 800 km (approximately 500 miles), further enhancing its competitiveness in long-haul transport.

Partnerships with global clients

The company has established partnerships with a number of international brands, including Decathlon, Rémy Cointreau, Nestlé, Wyeth Nutrition, Kuehne+Nagel, Rittal and KLN.

Outlook

With EU certification secured and deliveries underway in Northern Europe, Windrose is accelerating its efforts to scale globally and strengthen its position in the zero-emission heavy truck segment.
