WEICHAI New Energy Ships First Batch of 51 SDAC Light Trucks to Ecuador
On June 23, WEICHAI New Energy Commercial Vehicle shipped the first batch of 51 SDAC light trucks to Guayaquil, Ecuador's largest port city, as part of a 150-unit order. As the remaining vehicles are delivered in the coming months, the company expects to further expand the SDAC brand's presence in Ecuador while strengthening its footprint across South America.
The shipment includes SDAC light trucks ranging from 4.5 to 12 tons, designed for applications such as urban distribution, cold-chain logistics and regional freight transport. Equipped with WEICHAI's integrated powertrain and a lightweight, high-payload chassis, the trucks are engineered to balance performance, fuel efficiency and carrying capacity. Optimized for Latin American operating conditions, the SDAC series offers low fuel consumption, extended service intervals and high uptime, contributing to its growing presence in the Ecuadorian market.

Upon arrival in Ecuador, the vehicles will be delivered through a major local commercial vehicle partner with nationwide sales and aftersales coverage. The 150-unit order represents the latest milestone in the partnership and signals growing confidence in the SDAC range among both fleet operators and channel partners after years of market validation in Ecuador.

Ecuador has become one of WEICHAI New Energy Commercial Vehicle's key markets in South America. Since introducing the first SDAC light trucks to the country in 2023, the company has continued to adapt its products to local operating conditions while expanding its service capabilities. Supported by proven reliability and operating efficiency, the SDAC range has steadily gained recognition among local customers, laying the foundation for the latest bulk order.

As demand for logistics, retail distribution and infrastructure-related transportation continues to grow across Ecuador and neighboring countries, the need for efficient and reliable commercial vehicles is expected to increase. Backed by WEICHAI Group's powertrain expertise and a growing international service network, WEICHAI New Energy Commercial Vehicle is continuing to expand its footprint in South America. The company sees Ecuador as a key market in the region and plans to further strengthen cooperation with local partners while expanding its sales and aftersales support capabilities.
