China Truck Makers Saw Strong Sales in May

A total of 351,200 trucks were sold in China in May of this year, up by 18.88% compared with the same period last year, while in January-May the sales volume reached 1,707,900 units, a 9.27% jump from the previous year.

Of the total trucks sold in May, heavy-duty vehicles accounted for 113,600 units, down 7.52 month-on-month and up 16.25% year-on-year. Medium-duty vehicles grow by 13.92% month-on-month and up 14.35% year-on-year which stood at 20,100 units. Sales in light-duty vehicles went slightly down by 6.88% monthly and up by 24.81% yearly, reaching 163,000 vehicles. Mini trucks accounted for 54,600 units, up 8.74% over a month ago and down 10.04% as compared with last year.

Over the first five months, the total truck sales also rose 9.27% year-on-year to 1,707,900 units, including 55,980 units of heavy-duty vehicles, 85,300 units of medium-duty vehicles, 805,200 units of light-duty vehicles and 257,600 units of mini trucks, which saw a 15.16% jump, 2.33% decline, 13.44% jump and 7.90% decline respectively from the previous year.
